2015 is Color Cool!

PantonePantone, the world’s color authority, has announced their spring color trends report for 2015. There is a move to cooler and softer sides of the color spectrum to understated brights, pale pastels and nature-like neutrals.

Color Balance in the Landscape

Pantone states “There is a growing movement to step out and create ‘quiet zones’ to disconnect from technology and unwind, giving ourselves time to stop and be still. Color choices follow the same minimalist theme…”  So why not take a cue and bring those same colors in to our own landscape to create a relaxing garden oasis!

Fashion Forward in the Garden

Here are just a few UpShoot plants that match Pantone’s 2015 color forecast. Choose one of these plants to
be a trendy garden-ista!

Holiday Hoover Doovers

The holidays are coming – which signals I’ll be a baking and cooking machine!

Some of the best stuffers aren’t found in a stocking! Here is one of my fave appetizer recipes for you to try this season!

Sausage cups in tin

Sausage Cups
1 lb. Bob Evans Original or Savory Roll Sausage
1 (16 oz) pkg. won ton wrappers
1 cup each shredded Monterey Jack and cheddar cheeses
1/2 cup ranch dressing

Preheat oven to 350F. Crumble and cook sausage in a skillet until lightly browned, drain. Spray mini muffin tins and insert won ton wrappers to form a small cup. Bake 5 minutes in preheated oven. Allow wrappers to cool.

Mix sausage, cheeses and ranch dressing together. Fill won ton wrappers and bake 10 minutes until bubbly. Yields about 30 cups. Can you say Yumm-O?!
