#MeetGWA #GWA16 #GWAAtlanta The 68th GWA Annual Conference and Expo will be held in Atlanta, Georgia September 16-19, 2016. Kate Copsey, committee and staff have a fabulous event planned.
I look forward to reconnecting with old friends and colleagues but just as importantly, making new connections. If I don’t introduce myself to you first, please stop me and say hello. As a member of the GWA executive committee, I’m anxious to meet and hear from as many members as I can.
#WhereisMaria During the trade show, look no further than the National Garden Bureau exhibit in booth #200. UpShoot is an NGB member and so that’s where you’ll find me as well as six of the plants we represent in the NGB New Varieties Display; a new feature for 2016!

#PlantGeeksUnite Once again, my fellow plant nerd Kelly Norris, Director of the Greater Des Moines Botanical Garden and I are pleased to present the “New Plant Roundup.” On Monday, September 19th at 8:30 a.m. we’ll share some of the newest plants to hit the market along with some underutilized plants, too. We have had a great response from breeders and nurseries so you won’t want to miss this fast paced, plant packed session!
#Cultivate16 It was great to see so many of you at Cultivate16! Sorry if I missed you! If you have never been to this event, I highly recommend you take the time to investigate and consider attending the largest horticultural trade show in North America. I can guarantee it is unlike any other green industry show you currently attend! And thanks to AmericanHort, garden writers can attend the show and educational events for free – a $400 value!

#PacificNorthWest You’ll find UpShoot in #Portland for the Farwest Show August 25-27th. We’ll be in booth #3057 next to grower partner Silver Falls Nursery who incidentally, is the cover story for the August issue of Nursery Management magazine. We’re also across from the New Varieties Showcase where not one but two new plant intros managed by UpShoot will be featured; Lemon Ice Weigela and Sharon Kay Viburnum.
On Friday, August 26th I’ll be speaking in the Idea Center for Retailers. At 11 a.m. I’ll present “5 Ways to Improve Your Social Media Marketing.”
