Herbal Heaven
Funny how hidden gems can be right in your own back yard. While I knew the Herb Society of America was located just minutes from me in Kirtland, Ohio I had never been there before!
In June, as part of the Garden Writers Association, I was invited to speak on social media at the Coalition of American Plant Societies meeting at their headquarters.
If you want to become more knowledgeable about herbs, this is for you! Dues are reasonable and the ROI plentiful!
My goodie bag included a copy of their 4 color publication The Herbarist; it alone makes it worthwhile!
Herb Find – Check out this Lavender Cheddar Cheese from Rogue Creamy, a Fancy Food Show award winner which was recently seen on the Today Show.

Water Savvy
In Garden-pedia we define succulent as a type of plant that has thick, fleshy leave, stems or tubers.
Succulents are:
#1 Easy to grow making them a super choice for the ‘brown thumb’/novice or busy gardener; a successful gardening confidence builder plant!
#2 Water-wise and low maintenance; I’ve left my little orange sneakers outside even in the winter unprotected for years!
#3 According to Eban, succulent bowls, like the one from the HGTV HOME Plant Collection, make a dinosaur jungle! #kidgardening
