See You in St. Louie!

National Green Centre
I would like to personally invite you to attend the Region V GWA meeting at the 2013 National Green Centre show in St Louis January 6, 2013. I’m honored to open the meeting alongside Sally Benson, editor of American Nurserymanmagazine.

Your meeting registration provides you *free* access to the National Green Centre tradeshow, Plant Fashion Show and educational talks!  You can also sign up separately for a one day internet workshop with GWA internet guru, Daniel Gasteiger.

This is a great event to connect with other garden writers as well as an opportunity for direct interaction with the green industry; can you say potential writing and speaking gigs?!

Holiday Welcome!

First impressions are the ones that count! UpShoot clients and friends are being greeted by a homemade wreath featuring LCN Selections:

No matter which holiday you’re celebrating this season, may it be full of happiness, joy and peace!

Crowning Glories in Tucson, Dawn and Maria

Crowning Glories

My west coast counterpart Dawn Hummel and I are noStephanie Cohen, but someone had to play diva at the GWA Annual Symposium in October! It took the two of us to attempt to fill her shoes in Tucson, AZ!

If you spied us at the trade show in our crowns and wondered where they came from, The Crown Shop custom designed each one.

During the symposium we gave out over 100 bags of ‘Sweet Treat’s which featured Marion Berry and Green Apple Licorice. We hope you enjoyed them as much as we did making them!

Geauga® Gray Dogwood Cornus racemosa ‘Geazam’

Selected
Native Beauty

Geauga® Gray DogwoodCornus racemosa ‘Geazam’is a fast growing, naturally forming, selected native hedge.

The Counties of Ohio™ Series of gray dogwoodcome in an assortment of sizes and habits for a multitude of uses in the landscape; tough plants for tough sites.

Don’t Just Take
Our Word for it!

GWA member Bobbie Schwartz recently commented about the Counties of Ohio Series™ of Gray Dogwoods:

“Tough as nails!  Every landscape designer dreams of a plant that can withstand drought and shade but also performs beautifully in sun and average moisture, is available in different sizes and shapes, and has more than one season of interest.  To my delight, the LCN Selections cultivars of Cornus racemosa fit this wish list. I probably use Geauga® the most because so many urban and suburban lots have narrow spaces yet height is needed to create privacy or screening.”
